Barry Simmonds is a professional football manager, coach and administrator. He was the Director of Football Recruitment and on the Football Executive Board at Norwich City FC for the promotion winning 2014-15 season. He was appointed to this position in July 2014 having held a similar role at Fulham. ==Biography== He was previously the Director of Football then interim coach of A-League football team, New Zealand Knights FC. Simmonds took the coaching reins until the club appointed a new manager〔http://www.nzpaimages.co.nz/events.php?event_id=2697 NZ PA imaes〕 after the Knights sacked Paul Nevin. He left when new ownership was confirmed and the club subsequently renamed Wellington Phoenix. He returned to the UK in 2007 joining the board of directors at League 2 club Darlington FC then moved to Fulham as part of Roy Hodgson's staff in 2008 completing the management team which led by Hodgson achieved the highest league position in Fulham's history (2008-09) and a European competition final (UEFA Europa League 2010). He had previously worked with the England national team manager at FK Viking in Norway. It was a return to the West London club for Simmonds as he had started his coaching career there before moving to neighbours Queens Park Rangers. He was recommended to Fulham by Bobby Moore. The England World Cup winning captain had been his manager at Oxford City.
